From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, demons, and sinister influences growing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to go next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could help the group enter areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Fans can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, streaming live on next week.
